Ten industrial projects have been given the green light by the Tamil Nadu Cabinet, which was chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin and expected to bring in investments totaling Rs 6,000 crore and maybe 27,000 jobs.
A top official said that Godrej Consumer Products Limited intends to build a new plant in Tamil Nadu. A project was also approved by UPS, a well-known international shipping and logistics firm.
Salcomp, a company that provides chargers for Apple phones, has also declared an extension of its facilities. Pfizer and the French company Schneider both won approval for their separate projects.
Among the 10 projects, two are focused on electric vehicles, three are in general manufacturing, and one is related to electronics hardware. There is also a project in the technical textile domain.
Additionally, a project was cleared under the Life Sciences Policy 2022 and two projects are Global Capability Centres under the Research and Development Policy.
