Suzlon Wins 201.6 MW Wind EPC Order from Waaree Group for Andhra Pradesh Project
Suzlon Energy Limited has secured a 201.6 MW wind power project order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of Waaree Group, for a project to be executed in Andhra Pradesh.
The project involves installation of 64 units of Suzlon's S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. Suzlon will deliver a comprehensive EPC offering covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP), commissioning, and lifetime operations and maintenance services. The project will be executed under Suzlon's Development Company (DevCo) model, under which the company undertakes end-to-end project development, engineering, equipment supply and long-term execution.
The order marks Waaree Group's entry into wind energy generation, as the company looks to diversify its renewable energy portfolio beyond solar through its IPP arm. It is also Suzlon's second consecutive DevCo-led EPC order within a week, reflecting growing industry adoption of the integrated execution model.
Following this order, Suzlon's cumulative order pipeline in Andhra Pradesh has moved close to 1 GW, reinforcing the company's presence in one of India's key wind energy markets.
