Suzlon Energy Ltd has secured a 201.6 MW wind energy order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the independent power producer arm of the Waaree Group. The project, to be developed in Andhra Pradesh, marks Waaree Group's first venture into wind energy.

As part of the order, Suzlon will supply and install 64 units of its S144 wind turbine generators, each rated at 3.15 MW, taking the total installed capacity to 201.6 MW. The project will be executed under Suzlon's Development Company (DevCo) model, under which the company handles project development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and long-term operations and maintenance as a single integrated package.

This is Suzlon's second consecutive DevCo-led EPC order within a week, and the latest order takes the company's cumulative order pipeline in Andhra Pradesh to close to 1 GW. The financial value of the contract and the expected commissioning timeline were not disclosed.

Suzlon Group Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the partnership brings together two companies with established positions in India's renewable energy sector, with Suzlon in wind and Waaree in solar manufacturing, reflecting a broader industry shift toward integrated clean energy solutions. Waaree Forever Energies CEO Pawan Agrawal said the project marks an important step in the company's strategy to diversify its renewable energy portfolio beyond solar generation.

The order adds to Suzlon's positioning beyond turbine manufacturing, with the company offering land, infrastructure, commissioning and long-term maintenance services under a single arrangement as renewable energy developers increasingly favour integrated execution models to reduce project risk and accelerate implementation timelines.
