Aster DM Quality Care to Invest ₹1,315 Crore in Karnataka Healthcare Infrastructure, Adding 1,360 Beds
Aster DM Quality Care has announced a planned investment of ₹1,315 crore to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure in Karnataka. The announcement followed a meeting between Aster DM Quality Care Executive Chairman Dr Azad Moopen and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru.
The investment covers three major hospital projects in Bengaluru: a 550-bed facility at Yeshwantpur, a 460-bed hospital at Sarjapur, and a 350-bed expansion at the existing Aster CMI Hospital. Together, these projects will add 1,360 beds to the company's Karnataka portfolio, roughly doubling its current capacity in the state.
Aster currently operates four hospitals in Karnataka with 1,329 operational beds, including Aster CMI Hospital, Aster RV Hospital, Aster Whitefield Hospital and Aster Women & Children Hospital, as part of its broader network of 39 hospitals and more than 10,600 beds across India.
Dr Azad Moopen said the planned investment reflects the company's long-term confidence in Karnataka as one of its most strategic markets. Alisha Moopen, Director, Aster DM Quality Care, said the investment extends beyond capacity expansion to building an integrated healthcare ecosystem spanning clinical care, digital innovation, medical education and research.
The proposed investment underscores Aster's broader strategy of positioning Karnataka as one of its key centres for clinical excellence, tertiary and quaternary care, and medical education in India.
