The idea to establish a new plant in Dahej, Gujarat, has been authorised by the SRF board. An agrochemical intermediate will be produced at the new facility.

SRF's capital expenditures for this new facility will total Rs 235 crore. Both internal accruals and loans will be used to finance the capital expenditures.

The company's capacity will increase by approximately 600 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) with the completion of the new facility's setup expected to take ten months.

SRF reported its September quarter results which missed estimates on most parameters. The company's EBITDA margin also missed estimates by 100 basis points.

Last quarter, the board had approved a capex of Rs16.08 crore to expand the capacity of Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride that is used in pharma intermediates at the Dahej plant.
