Yamuna Expressway Authority likely to acquire 1,200 hectares for airport expansion in Nodia

By the end of this year, the Yamuna Motorway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is likely to begin the process of purchasing a another 1,200 hectares of land for the future Noida International Airport.

According to officials, six villages that are close to the border of the Aligarh district would give up their extra land.

The Uttar Pradesh government gave the go-ahead for the airport's and the aviation hub's additional expansion earlier this month. The airport's boundaries would now stretch to the edges of the proposed logistics park in the Aligarh district with the inclusion of this 1,200-0-hectare site.

A senior YEIDA official said, on condition of anonymity, that the 1,200 hectares will be acquired from six villages -- Mangaroli, Bhabokra, Deorar, Sadullapur, Ahmadpur Choroli, and Alabalpur. These villages are situated between the Jewar airport area and the proposed logistics park.
