Sanathan Textiles to Double Technical Textiles Yarn Capacity to 18,000 MTPA at Silvassa Facility
Sanathan Textiles Limited, an integrated manufacturer of polyester filament yarn, cotton yarn and technical textiles yarn, is set to double the technical textiles yarn manufacturing capacity at its Silvassa facility from 9,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 18,000 MTPA.
The expansion project is in its final phase of execution. Civil works have been completed and the required plant and machinery have already been installed. The company expects to commission the expanded capacity and commence commercial production in August 2026.
Technical textiles yarn produced at the Silvassa facility is used across a range of high-value applications, including automotive, agriculture, defence, infrastructure, roads and railways, sportswear, healthcare, industrial safety, and protective and strategic end-uses such as fire-retardant wear. The capacity addition is intended to strengthen the company's integrated manufacturing platform and enhance its ability to serve growing demand for technical textiles in both domestic and export markets.
The expansion forms part of Sanathan Textiles' broader capacity growth programme, which also includes an integrated polyester yarn facility in Punjab and a proposed greenfield cotton yarn facility in Madhya Pradesh through subsidiary Sanathan Polycot, involving an estimated capital expenditure of ₹420-445 crore.
