SAIL Signs MoU with BCCL for Joint Development of Indikatta Ramnagore and East of Damagoria Coking Coal Blocks in West Bengal
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). The MoU covers the joint development and operation of two coal blocks in West Bengal.
The blocks are SAIL's Indikatta Ramnagore coal block and BCCL's East of Damagoria (Kalyaneshwari) coal block. Both are located in West Bengal.
The MoU aims to develop domestic sources of coking coal. Coking coal is a key raw material for integrated steel plants.
SAIL is a fully integrated iron and steel maker producing basic and special steels. Its products serve the construction, engineering, power, railway, automotive and defence sectors, as well as export markets.
