Fujiyama Power Systems Sets Up ₹350-400 Crore, 1.2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh
Fujiyama Power Systems is setting up a 1.2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. Managing Director Pawan Garg described the greenfield project as part of the company's 2030 vision to become an integrated renewable energy player.
The plant will use Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology. Compared with conventional Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) architecture, TOPCon offers higher cell efficiency. Reports put the investment at about ₹350-400 crore.
Solar cell production is expected to begin by the end of the ongoing fiscal year. Once commercial operations start, the company's total cell capacity will reach 2.3 GW, adding to its existing 1.1 GW cell plant at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.
Fujiyama currently operates 3.6 GW of solar module capacity: 2 GW at Ratlam, 1.2 GW at Dadri and 0.4 GW at Noida. The new cell plant is a backward integration step. It will reduce the company's dependence on open-market cell procurement for its module lines.
