RVNL Signs MoU with Damodar Valley Corporation for Rail Connectivity and Coal-Handling Infrastructure at DVC Power Plants and Captive Mines
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) signed a memorandum of understanding with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on October 15, 2026. The MoU covers the development, upgradation, renovation and construction of railway infrastructure. It focuses on rail connectivity to DVC’s power plants and captive coal mining areas.
The scope goes beyond railway tracks. It includes Rapid Loading Systems (RLS), Coal Handling Plants (CHP), silos and retractable overhead electrification (OHE) systems. These facilities are intended to support coal transportation and the operational needs of DVC’s power generation and mining activities.
The MoU sets a framework for cooperation. Specific projects will be identified later. These could involve new construction as well as upgrading or renovation of existing facilities.
