Replus plans to expand production capacity from one GWh to six GWh by the Financial Year 2026. This expansion aims to support India's growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESS).
The upgraded facility will integrate advanced automation, AI, and data-driven manufacturing techniques, including real-time monitoring, robotic systems, laser welding, and automated material handling.
This will enhance production efficiency while reducing the carbon footprint. Replus’ expanded facility will manufacture high-performance battery solutions for passenger EVs, electric buses, trucks, and grid-scale renewable energy storage.
It will also feature a liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) container solution.
"With this expansion, Replus is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy storage globally. By integrating high-speed automation and next-generation battery technologies, we are committed to delivering industry-leading products for EVs and ESS applications," Managing Director and CEO of Replus, Hiren Pravin Shah said.
The plant will adopt a technology-agnostic approach, enabling it to handle high-energy-density cells, blade cells, and future battery chemistries, ensuring adaptability to evolving market needs. The company is part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group. "The expansion of the Replus plant to 6 GWh marks a significant milestone in our commitment to driving India's sustainable growth and energy transition," Vice Chairman of the Group, Riju Jhunjhunwala said.
