REMC Floats Tender for 17 MW Solar Project with 12.5 MW/50 MWh BESS at Dahod, Gujarat
REMC Limited, a joint venture of the Ministry of Railways and RITES Ltd., has issued a tender to select a renewable energy developer for setting up a 17 MW InSTS-connected solar project paired with a 12.5 MW/50 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The tender invites online bids until August 18, 2026, and offline bids until August 20, 2026.
The project is to be developed on vacant railway land near the Filter Plant at Dahod in Gujarat, spanning 80 acres, under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) and Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. The solar component will comprise approximately 17 MW AC / 20 MWp DC capacity, along with the BESS discharge capacity.
The scope of work also includes setting up a transmission system connecting the project to the STU GETCO 132/33 kV substation near Dahod, located about 3 km from the site. Bidders are required to pay a tender fee of ₹50,000 (inclusive of GST) and furnish an Earnest Money Deposit of ₹16,24,000 per MW. A single bidder, including its parent, affiliate or group companies, can submit only one bid for the full 17 MW capacity.
The tender specifies a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 21%, with the selected developer required to maintain generation within +10%/-15% of the declared CUF for the first 10 years from the commercial operation date, and within +10%/-20% thereafter through the 25-year power purchase agreement. The tender follows REMC's earlier award of a 1 GW Round-The-Clock renewable energy tender to six winning bidders, reflecting the company's continued push to expand renewable capacity on railway land across India.
