Prakash Industries Gets Environmental Clearance to Expand Bhaskarpara Coal Mine to 1.2 MTPA
Prakash Industries Limited has secured environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to expand the production capacity of its Bhaskarpara Coal Mine. The clearance was conveyed through a letter dated 12 June 2026.
The approval permits an increase in annual output at the mine from 1.0 MTPA to 1.2 MTPA, a rise of 20% in production capacity. The company stated that all necessary environmental compliances have been completed for the proposed increase in mining output.
The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges on 13 June 2026, with the filing signed by Company Secretary Arvind Mahla. The expansion is expected to contribute to Prakash Industries' production volumes following implementation of the approved capacity.
