Paras Dairy and KIS Group to Set Up 10 BioCNG Plants with ₹1,000 Crore Investment
Paras Dairy (VRS Foods) and Bengaluru-based clean technology firm KIS Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a joint venture and establish 10 BioCNG (compressed biogas) plants across India, with an estimated investment of ₹1,000 crore. The MoU was signed at the IBET Expo.
The plants will be located across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states, focused on converting dairy waste and agricultural residues into renewable energy. The projects will be developed near Paras Dairy's existing manufacturing operations in Sahibabad, Guloathi and Sandila in Uttar Pradesh, Malanpur in Madhya Pradesh, and Newasa in Maharashtra, giving the plants logistical access to established milk procurement zones.
Under the partnership, KIS Group will provide the technology and undertake turnkey engineering, procurement, construction and long-term operation of the plants, while Paras Dairy will support feedstock sourcing, land acquisition and regulatory approvals. Each facility is expected to process between 65,000 and 85,000 metric tonnes of organic waste annually, including dairy waste, cattle manure, napier grass and agricultural residue, producing up to 10 metric tonnes of BioCNG per day along with organic fertilisers and biogenic carbon dioxide as by-products.
The first facility is expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2027. The projects are expected to create around 500 direct and indirect jobs. KIS Group, founded in 2006, specialises in Biogas, BioCNG and BioLNG solutions.
