Odisha Clears 27 Industrial Projects Worth ₹2.47 Lakh Crore Across 15 Districts, Led by Data Centre Investments
The Odisha government approved 27 industrial projects worth over ₹2.47 lakh crore at a High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with the potential to generate employment for more than 50,000 people. The approved projects will come up across 15 districts, spanning sectors including data centres and AI, power and energy, steel, semiconductors, lab-grown diamonds, green hydrogen, healthcare, chemicals, textiles, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing.
IT, ITES and data centre projects accounted for the largest single investment segment, with four projects worth a combined ₹1,42,941 crore. These include High Density Data Centre Ltd's integrated data centre in Khurda, HCL Technologies Ltd's AI-optimised data centre in Khurda, Sentraforge AI Ltd's data centre and global capability centre in Puri, and RKD Construction Private Ltd's data centre in Cuttack.
The government also approved four major power and renewable energy projects with a combined investment of ₹54,287.70 crore. In the steel and steel-downstream sector, two projects are planned in Sunderagada, entailing an investment of ₹14,000 crore.
The Adani Foundation has proposed a 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospital in Khurda, involving an investment of ₹2,150 crore. Chief Minister Majhi said the geographical spread and sectoral diversity of the approved projects reflect the state's focus on expanding investment beyond conventional industrial clusters and promoting balanced regional industrial development.
