NBCC Arm HSCC Bags ₹1,261 Crore Contract to Build AIIMS Darbhanga in Bihar
HSCC (India) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-owned NBCC (India) Limited, has been appointed as the executing agency for construction of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Darbhanga, Bihar, under a contract worth ₹1,261 crore awarded by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The AIIMS Darbhanga project, approved by the Union Cabinet in 2020, will be developed on approximately 188 acres of land, with more than 2.25 lakh square metres of construction area. The facility will comprise a fully equipped tertiary care hospital, a medical college, an AYUSH hospital, and residential accommodation for students and staff.
The project is fully funded by the Central government and is expected to be completed within 36 months of commencement. NBCC said the project is intended to significantly expand access to high-quality medical education and tertiary healthcare services in the region at minimal cost to patients.
NBCC, primarily engaged in project management consultancy and real estate development, continues to build out its portfolio of government healthcare infrastructure projects through its HSCC subsidiary.
