Odisha bags Rs 4,349 crore investment intents in healthcare sector

Odisha has bagged investments worth Rs 4,349 crore in the healthcare sector during the Utkarsh Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave 2025, with nine prominent pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies expressing interest in establishing hospitals, pharma, and biotech manufacturing units.

Notable investments include Indo European Heart Hospital and Research Institute’s proposal for a Rs 1,200 crore project, and Indo European Research and Healthcare Rs 600 crore plan. SUM Health Care Services plans to set up 50-bed multi-speciality hospitals in each district with a Rs 1,000 crore investment. 

Other significant proposals include a Rs 544 crore project from Vikash Residential Institutions and a Rs 500 crore investment by J-VPD Diagnostics. Gloport Photonix Innovations and Emsurg Group of Companies have both proposed Rs 200 crore investments, while Onlyhealth and Monad Life Solutions aim to invest Rs 100 crore and Rs five crore, respectively.


SUM Group’s hospitals will provide affordable healthcare at the grassroots level, creating 900 direct and around 6,000 indirect employment opportunities. 

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling emphasised that these investments will accelerate Odisha’s growth in modern healthcare, aligning with the state’s vision for Viksit Odisha by 2036.
