Adani Foundation Lays Foundation for 2,000-Bed Adani Arogya Mandir at Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub, Kolkata, ₹4,000 Crore Investment
The Adani Foundation is developing a 2,000-bed hospital, Adani Arogya Mandir, at Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub in New Town, Kolkata, with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari laying the foundation stone. The project, entailing an investment of over ₹4,000 crore, is planned as a multi-speciality hospital along with step-down and transitional care facilities, spread across 51.75 acres.
The facility is designed to serve over 200,000 inpatients and more than 2 million outpatients annually and is expected to generate approximately 10,000 jobs across the healthcare ecosystem. In its first phase, the hospital will focus on cancer care, offering advanced tertiary and highly specialised healthcare services.
The broader campus will include a medical college with an annual intake of 150 undergraduates, 100-plus postgraduates and 40-plus super-specialists, along with a College of Nursing and an institution for allied healthcare and paramedical education. The Adani Foundation has engaged Mayo Clinic Global Consulting (US) and Singapore's SingHealth for clinical care, academic medicine, digital health and workforce development expertise.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani separately announced a broader investment roadmap of over ₹1 lakh crore by 2035 in West Bengal, spanning ports, logistics, renewable energy, power generation, power transmission and distribution, roads and bridges, green cement and hyperscale data centres. No further breakdown or timeline for this wider investment programme was disclosed.
