Navitas Solar Plans ₹10,000 Crore Investment Over Five Years in Gujarat and Maharashtra, Including 2.4 GW Solar Cell Plant at Sisodara and 5 GWh BESS in Vadodara
Surat-based Navitas Solar has announced plans to invest ₹10,000 crore over the next five years in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The plan covers ingots, wafers, solar cells and modules, battery energy storage and solar power generation. The company is expanding beyond module manufacturing into an integrated clean energy business.
Navitas is already developing a 2.4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility at Sisodara, Gujarat. Phase I involves an investment of about ₹1,200 crore. The facility is targeted to become operational by July 2027.
In Gujarat, the company plans a 5 GWh battery energy storage facility in Vadodara. In Maharashtra, it is developing two solar parks of 200 MW and 25 MW under EPC and independent power producer (IPP) models.
The plan builds on Navitas's existing 3 GW annual module manufacturing capacity. The company has also pursued backward integration through its solar encapsulant business, Navitas Alpha. Its renewable portfolio is expanding through subsidiaries such as Navitas Planet. Its EPC business is also expanding into Southern Africa, focusing on utility- and IPP-scale projects.
