Germany-based industrial screwdriving and assembly technology company DEPRAG SCHULZ GmbH u. Co. KG has established a direct Indian subsidiary, DEPRAG India Pvt Ltd. The company had served India for 21 years through its partner Leaptech. The subsidiary will bring engineering, application development and customer support closer to Indian manufacturers.

DEPRAG plans to invest about ₹8-10 crore. The investment will support local assembly, engineering and customer service. Assembly of selected systems in India is expected to begin within four to six months. The first phase will focus on building the local team, strengthening engineering support and identifying systems that can be assembled locally.

The subsidiary will initially focus on industrial screwdriving and fastening systems, component-feeding equipment, assembly automation and machines built for specific production lines. DEPRAG also offers air motors, pneumatic tools and industrial assembly software. Its Indian customers are in the automotive, electronics and electric mobility sectors, among others.

Local assembly is meant to shorten delivery times for selected systems and allow machines to be customised to products, factory layouts and production volumes. DEPRAG India targets double-digit million euro revenue over five years, with 25% annual growth. CEO Dr Erik Hallmann said the goal is a €5 million business within three years.
