N.A.N. Silox GreenMet JV to Set Up Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Plant in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, with 40,000 TPA Black Mass Capacity

Chemicals Oct 06,2026

Silox India and N.A.N. GreenMet, a Runaya-promoted entity, have formed a 50:50 joint venture, N.A.N. Silox GreenMet Private Limited. It will set up a lithium-ion battery recycling facility at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh. The site is about 45 minutes from Tirupati and 2 to 2.5 hours from Chennai.

The plant will produce battery-grade metals, metal salts, precursor cathode active materials (PCAM) and cathode active materials (CAM). Recovered products will include lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese salts. Production will scale across two phases to a target of 40,000 metric tons of black mass and 20,000 tons of refined salts.

The facility will use hydrometallurgy, a proprietary process developed by Silox, as its core technology. A separate proprietary technology will be used to convert the salts into crystals. Silox Group brings over 40 years of hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy experience. N.A.N. GreenMet will handle project development, execution and stakeholder management in India. Feedstock will include NMC and LFP lithium-ion batteries and other metal streams. It will be sourced from both global and domestic suppliers initially, with the share of domestic supply expected to rise.

The plant will occupy 20 to 25 acres. Phase 1 and Phase 2 are each sized for 20,000 tons of imported raw material and 10,000 tons of hydrometallurgical processing. The partners target commercialisation within 18 months. They state the plant will be ready by December 2027.
