Maruti Suzuki India to Invest ₹150 Crore in New 10 TPD Biogas Plant at Kharkhoda and Manesar Expansion
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is investing ₹150 crore to develop and expand biogas infrastructure at its Haryana manufacturing sites in Kharkhoda and Manesar.
The plan includes a new 10-tonne-per-day greenfield biogas plant at Kharkhoda and an expansion of the existing biogas facility at Manesar. Together, these projects aim to increase in-house renewable energy use and reduce reliance on fossil fuels for plant operations.
The initiative aligns with India’s broader push to promote compressed biogas under programmes like SATAT and improve industrial energy sustainability. Biogas produced from organic waste will be used for process heating and utility needs within the plants.
Overall, the investment reflects Maruti Suzuki’s strategy to integrate cleaner energy sources into its manufacturing operations while supporting national energy transition goals.
