Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has inaugurated a Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) resin manufacturing plant established by Lubrizol Corporation and Grasim Industries Limited at Vilayat in Bharuch district. The facility is described as one of the most scalable and integrated CPVC production plants in India.

The plant will manufacture CPVC resin and compounds locally, used in pipes and fittings for residential, commercial and industrial applications. The integrated structure is intended to strengthen the domestic supply chain for plumbing and piping solutions.

The project combines Grasim's manufacturing and execution capabilities with Lubrizol's process technology, aimed at supplying CPVC materials to the Indian market while building scalable chemical manufacturing capacity in the country.

Gujarat currently accounts for around 33 percent of India's chemical sector output, and the new facility adds to the state's industrial base in the chemicals segment as part of its broader manufacturing growth plans.
