Power Generation Oct 07,2026

L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions has received a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) from DVC CIL Power Private Ltd (DVCCIL). DVCCIL is a joint venture of Damodar Valley Corporation and Coal India Ltd. The LNTP covers the main plant package of the 1,600 MW Chandrapura thermal power plant in Jharkhand. L&T classifies orders above ₹5,000 crore as “major”.

The project has two 800 MW ultra-supercritical units. L&T’s scope covers design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines, generators and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). It also includes associated mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, and civil works.

DVCCIL will issue the full notice to proceed once the project secures the required environmental clearances and the LNTP period ends. The ultra-supercritical technology is meant to give higher thermal efficiency and lower specific emissions.
