Vayona Energy Unveils 5 MW Vayona 5.0/193 Onshore Wind Turbine Platform Developed with Germany’s Aerovide for Indian Manufacturing
Vayona Energy has unveiled its Vayona 5.0/193 onshore wind turbine, built on a new 5 MW platform. It was presented at Windergy India 2026 in Chennai on Friday. The platform was developed with Aerovide GmbH, Germany. It combines German design engineering with Vayona’s manufacturing capabilities and lifecycle service network in India.
The turbine has a 193-metre rotor. It is designed for India’s wind conditions, including low and ultra-low wind sites, and for reliable operation in high temperatures. Vayona plans to manufacture it in India, with a local supply chain for major components.
The platform adds a 5 MW segment alongside Vayona’s existing 3X platform. It is being developed with native digital twin capability. This will connect to Vayona’s in-house Remote Operations Centre for performance monitoring and predictive maintenance.
The company targets standalone wind projects and wind-solar hybrids. It also targets firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects and commercial and industrial customers.
Vayona said that in its first year it restarted manufacturing operations, secured new orders and produced its first blade. The source does not state the investment, manufacturing location or capacity for the 5 MW platform, nor the commercial availability date.
