KIS Group and VRS Foods Sign MoU for ₹1,000 Crore, 10-Plant Compressed Biogas Network in India
KIS Group-Sustainability² and VRS Foods (Paras Dairy) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop around 10 compressed biogas (CBG) and bioproduct plants across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and other regions in India. The partnership carries an estimated investment of ₹1,000 crore (Rs 10 billion) and is focused on converting dairy waste and agricultural residues into renewable energy. The first facility is expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Under the partnership, KIS Group-Sustainability² will provide the technology and undertake construction and operation of the plants, while Paras Dairy will support feedstock sourcing, land acquisition and regulatory approvals. The projects will be executed through a joint venture structure.
Each facility is designed to process between 65,000 and 85,000 metric tonnes of organic waste annually, including dairy waste, cattle manure, napier grass and agricultural residue. The plants are designed to produce up to 10 metric tonnes of BioCNG per day, along with organic fertilisers and biogenic carbon dioxide as by-products.
