JNPA Signs Agreement with CESL to Develop EV Charging and Battery Swapping Stations at Five Port Locations
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has signed an agreement with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), New Delhi, for the development of public EV charging and battery swapping stations at five parking locations within the port. The agreement was signed by Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA, along with Dy. Chairperson Ravish Kumar Singh and CESL's Head–Convergence, Rajneesh Rana.
The planned facilities will support electric vehicles operating within and around the port, including tractor-trailers, buses, cars, three-wheelers and two-wheelers. The initiative is intended to strengthen availability of charging and battery-swapping infrastructure and encourage electric mobility adoption across the port's operational ecosystem.
CESL is a green-energy focused central government PSU operating under the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, engaged in accelerating clean energy and sustainable mobility solutions across India.
