Jupiter Life Line Hospitals Opens Dombivli Facility, Part of ₹1,400 Crore Maharashtra Expansion
Jupiter Life Line Hospitals has unveiled its new facility in Dombivli, Maharashtra, marking a key milestone in the group's previously announced ₹1,400 crore expansion plan across the state. The chain currently operates around 1,061 beds and aims to nearly double that capacity to about 2,500 beds through three new hospital projects.
The Dombivli project, being developed at a cost of around ₹500 crore, spans roughly 8 lakh square feet and is positioned as the group's largest facility. The first phase, adding 200-250 beds, is targeted for completion by Q1 FY27, with the company having already invested around ₹200 crore in the project so far. Upon full completion, the Dombivli hospital is expected to accommodate up to 500 beds of quaternary care capacity.
Beyond Dombivli, the expansion pipeline includes a second hospital in Pune's Bibwewadi area, with construction expected to begin during FY26, and a facility in Mira-Bhayandar, which is currently in the regulatory clearance stage. Combined, the three new hospitals are expected to add 1,300-1,400 beds to the group's network over the next four years.
The expansion will be funded primarily through internal accruals and debt. The company is currently net cash positive, holding around ₹600 crore in cash against ₹325 crore in debt. Jupiter's strategy centres on developing greenfield, mid-sized hospitals of 300-500 beds targeting local catchment areas in suburban and urban Maharashtra, rather than pursuing acquisition-led growth or large centralised tertiary hubs. The company already operates hospitals in Thane, Pune and Indore.
