JKHPMC Re-Tenders ₹32.22 Crore 5,000 MT Controlled Atmosphere Cold Store at Rambirpora, Anantnag
The Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (JKHPMC) has floated a fresh tender for a 5,000 metric tonne controlled atmosphere (CA) cold store at Rambirpora in Anantnag. The tender covers design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning. It is described as a greenfield project with an estimated cost of ₹32.22 crore and a work period of 365 days.
A corrigendum has extended the bid submission deadline to September 25. Bids will be opened on September 28.
JKHPMC first invited bids in July 2022 for a facility of the same capacity at the same site, at an estimated cost of ₹26.71 crore. That scope included site development, demolition, foundation work and a pre-engineered steel structure. The tender saw at least four deadline extensions before its final submission date in September 2022. Public tender records do not show whether that contract was awarded or construction began.
A JKHPMC presentation to its Board in August 2022 listed Rambirpora as one of two planned 5,000 MT cold stores. The other is at Behrampora in Baramulla. A separate 2,500 MT facility was planned at Dobagah in Sopore.
The store will add CA storage capacity for apple growers in south Kashmir. This will extend the marketing window for fruit after harvest.
