India’s Semiconductor Map Shows 12 Approved Projects Across Six States With Over ₹1.64 Lakh Crore Committed Investment, Led by Tata-PSMC’s ₹91,526 Crore Dholera Fab
India’s semiconductor ecosystem now includes 12 approved projects across six states, with more than ₹1.64 lakh crore in committed investment. Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant shared this on October 19, 2026. The projects cover fabrication, packaging, testing and advanced technology facilities. The source describes 11 of the 12 projects, across five states.
Gujarat is the largest hub, with six approved projects. These include the Tata-PSMC semiconductor fabrication plant at Dholera, with an investment of ₹91,526 crore and a planned capacity of more than 50,000 wafers per month. Micron Technology’s DRAM and NAND assembly and test facility at Sanand involves ₹22,516 crore. The CG Power-Renesas-Stars semiconductor OSAT facility involves ₹7,584 crore. Kaynes Semicon, Crystal Matrix and Suchi Semicon are also developing facilities in the state, covering semiconductor packaging, compound semiconductors, mini-LED technologies and discrete semiconductor manufacturing.
In Assam, Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test is setting up an OSAT and packaging facility with an investment of ₹27,120 crore and a proposed capacity of around 48 million units per day.
Odisha has two projects. SiCSem is developing a silicon carbide fabrication and packaging facility with an investment of ₹2,066 crore. 3D Glass Solutions is setting up an advanced packaging and 3D integration project with an investment of ₹1,943 crore.
Andhra Pradesh is hosting an Advanced System in Package (ASIP) facility with an investment of about ₹480 crore and a proposed capacity of nearly 96 million units annually. In Punjab, CDIL is setting up a power semiconductor project with an investment of ₹117 crore.
