The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has not yet received the Detail Project Report (DPR), which is required for 'In-Principle' permission of the construction of the International Standard Greenfield Airport at Nagchala, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
The government of Himachal Pradesh has already received first-stage approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) for the development of the airport on the site.
The information was provided by Gen. V. K. Singh, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, in response to a query posed by Sikander Kumar, a RajyaSabha Member from Himachal Pradesh, on July 24 in the Parliament.
Sikander Kumar was interested in the specifics of the study and construction of the greenfield international airport's current state of development.
The government of India has formulated a Greenfield Airports (GFA) Policy, 2008 which prescribes the procedure and conditions for the development of new greenfield airports in the country,” said the Union Minister.
