Haryana Approves ₹9,700 Crore Bypass and Ring Road Projects in Hisar, Kurukshetra, Narnaul, Jind and Sohna-Palwal
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the development of ring roads and National Highway links outside cities and towns with a population of more than one lakh, alongside a set of major bypass projects estimated at around ₹9,700 crore. The approval covers bypasses at Hisar, Kurukshetra, Narnaul, Jind and the Sohna-Palwal corridor.
The Hisar Bypass will connect Hisar-Rajgarh Road (NH-52) with Hisar-Delhi Road and Hisar-Kaithal Road. A Detailed Project Report for the Kurukshetra-Ladwa Bypass has been prepared, with construction expected to begin shortly.
The Narnaul City Bypass will run approximately 11 km and link to NH-148B, while Jind will get a four-lane outer ring road and bypass on NH-352. The Palwal-Sohna Bypass, originating from NH-919, will be upgraded and reconstructed as a four-lane road over roughly 24 km.
The state also plans greenfield connectivity linking the DND-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh Bypass-KMP link and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with Jewar International Airport. A three-member committee comprising officials from the Finance, Public Works and Urban Local Bodies departments has been set up to finalise the state's cost-sharing contribution under the central government's master plan framework. The state has also completed depositing its land share for the Karnal Ring Road.
