Greater Noida Authority Approves ₹756 Crore Double-Decker Elevated Road Corridor, UP's First
The Greater Noida Authority has approved the first phase of a ₹756.01 crore double-decker elevated road corridor during its 144th board meeting held on September 3, 2026. The project will be Uttar Pradesh's first double-decker elevated road and will connect Greater Noida's 130-metre-wide road to the Meerut Expressway (NH-9).
The corridor will run approximately 5.75 km, extending from Ekmurti Chowk to Shahberi. This stretch will comprise a three-lane double-decker elevated road, designed to maximise road capacity within the space-constrained, heavily congested Shahberi corridor, connecting Eteda Roundabout on the 130-metre road to Crossings Republik. Beyond Shahberi, a six-lane single elevated road is proposed from the Shahberi drain onward to NH-9.
Project costs for the double-decker portion will be shared equally among four agencies: the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority, and the Ghaziabad Development Authority.
Once complete, the corridor is expected to ease congestion on the Shahberi stretch and improve connectivity for commuters travelling between Greater Noida, Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut, providing seamless access to NH-9 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The approval forms part of a broader push to strengthen regional connectivity and urban mobility across the National Capital Region.
