Government Reports Progress on 7 PM MITRA Textile Parks with ₹68,590 Crore Investment Interest Across States

The Government of India has provided an update on the status of its 7 PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks, being developed under a scheme with an outlay of ₹4,445 crore for the period 2021-22 to 2027-28. The parks are being set up on Greenfield and Brownfield sites in Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), and Maharashtra (Amravati).

According to the Ministry of Textiles, Memoranda of Understanding have been signed with all 7 states and 100% of the land required for the sites has been acquired. Environmental clearances have been received for all parks, and Joint Venture Agreements have been signed with Special Purpose Vehicles incorporated for all 5 Greenfield sites. Detailed Project Reports totalling ₹13,537 crore have been finalised across the 7 states.

Investment interest amounting to ₹68,590 crore has been received so far across the PM MITRA states. State-wise, Madhya Pradesh has received the highest investment interest at ₹19,846 crore on 2,158 acres of Greenfield land, followed by Gujarat at ₹13,094 crore on 1,000 acres and Maharashtra at ₹12,000 crore on 1,327 acres of Brownfield land. Uttar Pradesh has recorded ₹5,354 crore in investment interest, Telangana ₹3,800 crore, Tamil Nadu ₹2,067.90 crore, and Karnataka ₹1,700 crore.

Internal infrastructure work is at varying stages across sites. Telangana has completed 300 units of internal infrastructure work with 165 under progress, while Uttar Pradesh has completed 23 units with 5 under progress. State governments have incurred external infrastructure expenditure ranging from ₹32.21 crore in Maharashtra to ₹220.69 crore in Uttar Pradesh.
