Godawari Power & Ispat Infuses ₹100 Crore Into Subsidiary GNEPL to Fund 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System Plant in Maharashtra
Godawari Power & Ispat Limited has invested an additional ₹100 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), taking its total equity investment to ₹450 crore.
GNEPL, incorporated in June 2025, is developing a 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant in Maharashtra and has not yet begun commercial operations. The latest funds will support capital expenditure and initial working capital needs for the project.
The investment was made through the allotment of equity shares at par and disclosed as a related party transaction under SEBI regulations. No additional regulatory approvals were required.
Overall, the project positions Godawari Power among companies expanding into large-scale energy storage, driven by rising renewable energy integration, grid stability needs, and supportive policy momentum in India’s power sector.
