CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd has started commercial production at its new Extra High-Voltage (EHV) switchgear facility, S3 Unit-II, in Nashik, Maharashtra, with a ₹39.49 crore investment funded through internal accruals.

The new unit will manufacture EHV circuit breakers in the 33 kV to 245 kV range and adds 7,200 units of annual capacity. This increases the company’s total EHV circuit breaker capacity by about 80%, complementing its existing S3 Unit-I at Nashik, which produces a wider 33 kV to 800 kV range.

The facility includes advanced 350 kV and 500 kV testing laboratories, enabling utility-grade product certification for domestic and export markets. It is part of CG Power’s broader expansion strategy to strengthen its switchgear business across medium and high-voltage segments.

Overall, the expansion is aimed at meeting rising demand from power utilities, railways, renewable energy, and transmission infrastructure projects driven by ongoing grid modernization and energy transition efforts.
