Flender India expands investment and production to strengthen role in energy transition

Infrastructure  -  Nov 11,2024  -

Flender India, the Indian arm of the Germany-based Flender Group, has announced plans to increase its investments in the Indian market as part of its broader growth strategy. With established production facilities in Kharagpur, Chennai, and Walajabad (Tamil Nadu), the company is focused on expanding its production of wind turbine drive gearboxes to meet both domestic and international demand. Over half of the products manufactured in India are exported, emphasizing the country’s growing significance in Flender’s global operations.

Flender Group CEO Andreas Evertz and Flender India CEO Vinod Shetty recently visited the Tamil Nadu sites to mark the Flender Group's 125th anniversary. The visit highlighted the strategic importance of India in the company’s global growth. Evertz commended the efforts of the company’s employees, suppliers, and partners in advancing progress in the energy sector, expressing pride in Flender India’s role in driving the company’s energy transition objectives.

Since establishing its presence in India in 1961, Flender has seen substantial growth in the country. Over the past three years, Flender India has more than doubled its business, driven by increased local demand and the global shift toward renewable energy. The company has also quadrupled its investment in India in the last four years, reflecting the importance of the Indian market to its long-term strategy.
