European Auto Component Maker Proposes ₹3,000 Crore Greenfield Investment in Tamil Nadu
A European vehicle spare parts manufacturing company has formally expressed Tamil Nadu as its preferred location for a proposed ₹3,000 crore greenfield investment in India. The development took place during a business engagement in London, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
The company submitted its letter of intent to Deepak Jacob, IAS, Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu government's investment-promotion agency. The specific name of the company was not disclosed in the source material.
The Tamil Nadu government has assured the company of support and cooperation to facilitate the proposed investment and help establish operations in the state.
The proposal comes amid a broader push by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's delegation in the UK to draw investment into advanced manufacturing, electric vehicles, electronics and Global Capability Centres. Separately, the Hinduja Group reaffirmed plans to expand its Tamil Nadu investments, including in wind energy, building on a ₹2,500 crore MoU signed in August 2026 at the state's 'VETTRI' Investors' Conference.
Tamil Nadu has positioned the state as an export hub for automotive manufacturing, with the visit forming part of a wider outreach that followed MoUs exceeding ₹1 lakh crore signed at the state's investors' conference earlier in 2026.
