Dhanuka Agritech to Invest ₹200 Crore in New Pesticide Manufacturing Unit in Nagpur, Maharashtra
Dhanuka Agritech Limited's Board of Directors has approved land acquisition and an investment of up to ₹200 crore for a new pesticide formulation manufacturing plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The board approval came at a meeting held on August 3, 2026.
The facility will have a proposed production capacity of 23,000 metric tonnes per annum and is expected to become operational by March-April 2028. The company has described the plant as a highly automated facility designed to reduce labour dependence and meet global safety and efficiency standards.
The investment will be financed through internal accruals and/or debt, with capital expenditure of more than ₹100 crore expected in FY 2027-28 for the project. The Nagpur location has been chosen to improve logistical efficiency, reduce lead times to market, and take advantage of Maharashtra's industrial policies and the city's development as a logistics hub.
The expansion comes as tax incentives at the company's existing Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir manufacturing unit are set to expire in March 2026. The Nagpur plant will add to Dhanuka Agritech's manufacturing footprint, which currently includes facilities in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir, and is intended to support rising demand for crop protection products in the domestic agriculture sector.
