Waaree Energies Plans ₹30,000 Crore Capex to Expand Solar Manufacturing Capacity Over Three Years

Power Generation Aug 04,2026

Waaree Energies has announced a capital expenditure plan of ₹30,000 crore over the next three years, aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity and strengthening its position in the global renewable energy market. For FY2026-27, industry analysts estimate the company will invest close to ₹9,000 crore as part of this multi-year expansion strategy.

The planned investment is intended to support infrastructure development, capacity enhancement and new growth initiatives across both domestic and international markets, with a focus on building large-scale manufacturing infrastructure to meet rising global demand for solar products.

As part of the plan, the company is increasingly localising production intended for the United States, shifting from an India-based export model to establishing manufacturing facilities closer to key overseas markets. This shift is aimed at reducing exposure to tariffs on Indian solar module imports into the US and to geopolitical and trade-related uncertainty.

Waaree Energies has indicated it will pursue a hybrid manufacturing model, sourcing select components globally while carrying out final assembly and module production within target markets such as the United States, while continuing to build out its domestic manufacturing base in India. The company has not disclosed the specific number or locations of new facilities under development.
