The expansion aims to enhance passenger facilities and accommodate the increasing traffic at one of India’s busiest international gateways.

The project involves adding eight new aerobridges and expanding the terminal building with an additional built-up area of 600,000 square feet. The deadline for bid submission is 19 December 2024, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for at the airport’s office in Kochi. The selected contractor will have 21 months to complete the civil works.

The terminal expansion is a key component of CIAL’s Rs 1,300 crore development plan, which allocates Rs 700 crore for the international terminal upgrade. This ambitious project seeks to bolster the airport’s position as a vital hub connecting India to West Asia and the world, reports Economic Times.
