The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the four-laning of two national highway sections in Telangana at a total cost of ₹7,597 crore, covering 190.76 km across NH-63 and NH-563.

The project includes upgrading the Armoor–Jagtial–Mancherial stretch of NH-63 under the Hybrid Annuity Model and the Jagtial–Karimnagar section of NH-563 under the BOT (Toll) model. These corridors currently face heavy congestion due to densely populated stretches across multiple towns.

The expansion aims to improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and strengthen freight connectivity in northern Telangana, particularly in the industrially active Karimnagar–Mancherial region, which supports sectors like steel, cement, and power.

The approval is part of the broader Bharatmala highway development programme and moves the project toward tendering and financial closure.
