Bihar Approves 336-KM Six-Lane Greenfield Corridor from Buxar to Bhagalpur
The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, has approved a 336-km six-lane greenfield road corridor connecting Buxar with Bhagalpur. The corridor will pass through Bhojpur, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Munger, Sheikhpura, Banka, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui and Lakhisarai districts before reaching Bhagalpur.
The project will be implemented through the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL). As part of the approval, the Cabinet has cleared the appointment of consultants and a transaction adviser for preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
No investment figure for the corridor has been disclosed at this stage; the cost is expected to be firmed up once the DPR is finalised.
The corridor is intended to improve connectivity across a wide stretch of central and eastern Bihar and is expected to support agriculture, trade and other economic activities in the districts along its route.
