Adani Group Proposes ₹1 Trillion AI Data Centre in Odisha, Seeks 250 Acres of Land
Adani Group has proposed an estimated ₹1 trillion investment to establish an artificial intelligence data centre in Odisha. The company is seeking approximately 250 acres of land from the state government for the project.
If approved, the facility would place Odisha among India's largest AI and digital infrastructure hubs, ranking alongside Google's planned 1 GW data centre project in Andhra Pradesh in scale.
The proposal is under detailed evaluation by the Odisha government, with officials examining land availability, power supply, water resources and connectivity. Cuttack (Kataka) is a tentative location under consideration, though final approval is pending. The company has also sought incentives from the state, which will be reviewed before the proposal goes to the high-level clearance authority headed by the chief minister.
The Odisha proposal is part of Adani's broader plan to invest $100 billion by 2035 in renewable-powered, hyperscale, AI-ready data centres. The group currently operates a facility in Chennai through a joint venture with Sweden's EQT-owned EdgeConneX, and is developing additional centres in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad.
