Assam Cabinet Approves ₹11,000 Crore JK Lakshmi Cement Investment for Clinker and Grinding Units
The Assam Cabinet has approved a proposed investment of ₹11,000 crore by JK Lakshmi Cement Limited for setting up a clinker manufacturing unit along with four associated cement grinding units in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
According to Sarma, the investment is expected to generate around 2,000 direct jobs in the state.
The approval was part of a broader set of Cabinet decisions aimed at industrial investment and manufacturing support, which also included approval of a State Capital Investment Subsidy for eligible manufacturing units in Assam that qualify under the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI), 2024, but could not register under the scheme within its extended September 30, 2026 deadline.
