220 kV Substation Near Gurdwara Nabha Sahib, Zirakpur — Land Rate Fixed for ₹184 Crore Project
The Mohali district administration has fixed the collector rate for 4.91 acres of land required to build a proposed 220 kV substation near Gurdwara Nabha Sahib in Zirakpur. The rate has been set at ₹4 crore per acre, and the process of making the land available for the project will now move forward.
The project, estimated to cost around ₹184 crore, is aimed at strengthening power infrastructure in the fast-growing Zirakpur area and its surroundings. Construction is expected to begin once land possession is handed over.
The land rate was finalised at a meeting chaired by Mohali Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, attended by Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa along with officials from the relevant departments, including the Municipal Council president, an executive engineer, a naib tehsildar and an executive officer.
The substation is intended to boost electricity supply capacity in the area, addressing rising power demand as Zirakpur continues to expand rapidly.
