A cooperative sugar factory plans to expand its distillery in Sakharale, Maharashtra, from 150 to 550 KLPD, with an estimated cost of ₹2,390 million; construction ran from October 2023 to April 2024. Additionally, it will expand its sugar unit (7,000 to 15,000 TCD) and co-generation capacity (28 to 68 MW) with ₹3,800 million investment, starting September 2026.
