    State government has approved a 7.20 km underwater tunnel connecting the upcoming Manori desalination plant to the city's water distribution network via Charkop and Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali. The tunnel supports the 200 MLD Manori desalination plant, designed for future expansion to 400 MLD. Construction is set to begin in August 2026 and will take 45 months to complete.
