YEIDA Approves 200-Acre Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Tappal-Bajna and Plans 8,000-Hectare Industrial Node Near Noida International Airport
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) approved the development of a 200-acre multi-modal logistics park at Tappal-Bajna at its 93rd board meeting. The park is being developed under the Uttar Pradesh policy for multi-modal logistics parks. Land will be offered to eligible investors through e-auction.
YEIDA CEO RK Singh said the initiative is meant to boost investment, employment and modern supply-chain infrastructure in the Yamuna area. The authority aims to develop the region as a major logistics hub.
The authority is also preparing a master plan for an industrial node of about 8,000 hectares, located south of Noida International Airport. The node is expected to support factories, warehouses and light manufacturing. An earlier report on the plan described a 7,600-8,000 hectare corridor along the Yamuna Expressway linking the airport with the Tappal-Bajna hub. It is to include manufacturing units, logistics parks, warehouses, MSMEs, commercial space and worker housing.
The Tappal-Bajna hub is planned as a manufacturing and logistics facility. It is meant for storage and distribution of commodities such as cement, steel, grains and automobiles. Noida International Airport and its cargo terminal began operations in mid-June, and YEIDA is stepping up industrial development around them.
The board also reviewed progress on industrial plot allotments. Of 295 plots larger than 4,000 sq m, lease deeds have been executed for 181 and possession handed over for 152.
