Welspun One, WTCA ink pact for Rs 800 crore urban warehousing facility in Thane
Infrastructure - Dec 17,2024 -Welspun One has inked a pact with the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) to develop a mixed-use warehousing facility in Wagle Estate, Thane in Maharashtra.
The project, with an investment of over Rs 800 crore, will span one million sq. ft., integrating an urban distribution centre (UDC), retail, office spaces, food and beverage outlets, and an experience centre.
Positioned as India’s tallest Grade-A mixed-use UDC, the property will consist of 14 levels, each with floor-to-floor heights of 4.2–4.5 mtrs.
The lower floors will host retail and F&B outlets, while the upper levels will feature premium office spaces and experience centers. Notably, three floors have already been pre-leased, and 35 percent of the space is in an advanced leasing pipeline.
Businesses operating at this strategically located facility will be capable of reaching 50 percent of Mumbai’s households within 30 minutes and service up to 10 million sq. ft. of commercial spaces across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Welspun One will drive the project’s construction and development, while WTCA will provide technological support and branding expertise.
This state-of-the-art project addresses the growing demand for just-in-time delivery and micro-fulfillment centers, becoming a key supply chain, retail distribution, and business park hub in the region.
“Consumer behaviour is evolving rapidly, with quick commerce expanding beyond groceries to include electronics, apparel, and more, demanding modern warehousing solutions… With WTC Thane, we are setting a new benchmark for integrated and sustainable urban logistics, enabling businesses to stay ahead in supply chain dynamics,” said Managing Director, Welspun One, Anshul Singhal.
